My next frontier

Regular readers of this blog and people that know me well know how much I love travel and adventure, and how it has defined my life in so many ways. Even for them, though, this news will probably come as a shock. After careful consideration, I have decided to leave New York. What possible life adventure could have enticed me to leave one of the greatest cities on Earth, you may be asking?  Antarctica, naturally.  I have applied for and won the job of web designer and IT support technician for a Russian research team that is drilling the deepest hole ever to reach a pre-historic underground lake. This is a very exciting opportunity for me, and although I don’t know the exact duration of the project, I expect it will last at least a few years. It will be sad to leave my wonderful friends and apartment here, but this is too good of an opportunity to pass on. I expect to leave within the next month or so, but I have so much to do to prepare. Out with all the short sleeve t-shirts and light clothing, in with the parkas and long underwear. All the packing and preparation will be intense, but I am very exited to begin this new phase in my life. Stay tuned for more details!
