As you have probably noticed, I am continuing my semiannual tradition of futzing with the design of my blog. Feedback, anyone?

It looks good. But I also liked the last iteration.

not as easy to read. white type on gray kinda sparkles, and not in a good way ;-) also your type is now justified all the way to the edges of the gray column which makes the visual return a bit awkward. dark type on light background is easier on the eyes when reading onscreen. of course just my humble graphic designer opinion!

much improved! thanks for listening to my suggestions. the light gray text is much easier on the eyes. and flush left vs. justified makes it much easier to read. added bonus: insetting the text block slightly so it’s not flush to the left edge of the dark gray column. i like the image at the top of the page, and it’s nice that the images that correspond with your blog entries span the entire gray column. clean and simple! of course just my humble graphic designer opinion! hope everyone enjoys your new aesthetic ;-)

idea. not sure if this is possible…

can you keep the “header” image and the entire left column static as a reader scrolls down through your blog entries? vs. the entire page scrolling????? work your magic!

  5. troy says:

oops. sorry, i meant to ask if you could keep the “header” image and the entire RIGHT column static as a reader scrolls down through your blog entries…

  6. Stephen says:

Yeah, I could and I thought about it. The problem, if you think about it, is there is too much content in the right column. Unless they scroll independently, no one on anything less than a enormous screen will be able to use the nav column. That is why I didn’t. But I did think about fixing the header image and the satoristephen box, and letting everything else scroll…
