Zen vacation

Later today I will enter a Zen farm here in the Bay Area, where I will reside for a week, working on the farm and learning more about Zen Buddhism. In particular, I will be learning about Zazen practice, meditating several times a day.

To that end, I will not be posting anything on the blog for the next week or so. If you would like to read about (some of) my previous experiences that have brought me to this point of interest, check out this category.

See you next week.

Maybe someday you will explore the 4,000 year old exotic, middle eastern religion that you were inexplicably born into. My own bias is that the spirituality can be found only with great sacrifice, and only in Orthodox/Chasidic traditions. Unfortunately, the less demanding Reform/Conservative/New Age synagogues provide a Cliffs Notes version of Judaism that is unlikely to fulfill you.
