Continuing to explore on foot. I really find the people here to be very kind and friendly. Especially the women wearing tudung (headscarves) , for some reason. Perhaps I have some deep-seated prejudice inside that assumes that people that are outwardly religious will automatically recognize me as “the enemy” or “the other” and hate me. Not fair of me, I know and worth keeping an eye on.
As for the city, it really seems to want to be grander than it is, especially evidenced by the architecture and gardens surrounding the Petronas Towers and convention center. This is a city that want to present a gleaming modern face.
