Everyone was a bit over travelling, so it was probably a good time for them to head back to the states. By Shanghai they had lost most of their enthusiasm (especially for “Asian” food, as if that was one type). But I can understand. This is the longest trip most of them had ever taken. And by the end of it, they were feeling exhausted and really wanting some familiarity.
Still, it was a fantastic trip, and for the most part everyone had a great time and learned a lot. I know I did. We said a tearful goodbye and I got off in Kuala Lumpur to begin my Malaysian adventure. They continue on to Delhi, then Chicago, then Indiana. Safe travels, gang!
